More Plum Butter

Ingredients
  • 8 cups chopped plums
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 2 tblsps cinnamon
  • 1 scant tblsp each of cloves and allspice
  • 2pkgs certo or surejell
Instructions
  1. Pit and cut plums into small chunks.
  2. Put plums in a 6qt.stainless steel kettle add the sugar and spices.
  3. Bring to a full rolling boil.
  4. Then add the certo or surejell.
  5. Bring back to boil and boil 5 minutes.
  6. Ladle into sterilized jelly jars.
  7. Make sure there isn't any jelly on rims of jars.
  8. Then screw lids on tight turn back ½ turn.
  9. Process in a hot water bath for 10 minutes.
Notes
Adjust spice to your liking.
